Image what an anime would be without voice actors. Image what a manga would be without dialogues. Pretty empty, huh? What captivates the viewer isn’t only what he sees but also what the he hears and understands from it. All of our favorite characters became our fav for a reason. Our favorite shows become our favorite because they greatly appealed to us in away that others didn’t. But let’s not forget that the author or studio went through the trouble to not only creating the show but also to give every single character a certain personality.  As a result, a fusion of  good characters and an interesting plot into possibly a unique experience.

Ange has been trying to study but the harem of purgatory are such lively gals that won’t let Ange, as a result she fails a test. Ange’s classmates  are mad at her and force Ange to write a letter of apology because she got the overall grade of the class down. Bad grades? If this was Minami-ke  then bakayarou Kana would have been hanged in public then burned at the stake.  Because of the bullying, Ange starts crying. Why doesn’t she fight back!? This wasn’t even fun. It was just cruel bullying that these spoiled rich girls enjoyed. I’d like them to be part in Beato’s game to they get to see some real cruelty.  Heck, I’ll give them front row seat and see how they like it.

Ange cannot take any of this and orders the stakes to gouge them.  I was surprised that Ange gave in to the power of magic though I can’t blame her for it, those girls really were asking for it. Surprisingly and not so surprisingly the stakes are hesitant to accept Ange’s orders.  Ange becomes  enraged seeing that they don’t answer her with a Yes your Majesty! and denies their existence one by one since she’s now convinced that magic isn’t real and that all of this are delusions of her red-headed mind.  Ange does not forgive anyone and she even denies Sakutaro on the spot too. Maria begs Ange to not hurt her imaginary friend but it’s too late. Shotaro is destroyed (for the second? third? How many times does this guy die?)

What’s the end for this title? That’s one of the hardest questions to answer. Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is still ongoing and I have no way of knowing when and what final conclusion it would reach. But I do occasionally wonder how the Umineko would end. That’s one of things I occasionally wonder when I watch any ongoing show/game. So I was pondering about what type of ending the author could eventually give Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. This post is closely related to character development in Umineko and thinking about its conclusion using a couple of rhetoric, some non-rhetoric questions and others questions you might have already considered. Keep in mind that this isn’t criticism since I enjoy Umineko very much but rather some Umineko musing about When they Cry and where is going.

The episode starts from the part where Rosa has brought back Maria into the mansion after the rose/candy incident. Rosa feels terrible for leaving Maria outside and makes a pinky promise with Maria that she won’t ever stay outside in rain like that again.  ~Uu Maria promises ~uu. Back to Meta World.

Battler and Beato (she’s Beatrice again, right?) are ready to start the game but Ange suddenly feels indispose and leaves the room because she feels ‘bored’. Battler isn’t pleased at all to hear this and tells her that the game is about to start and that she should stay. Ange doesn’t want to hear anything and leaves the room. What’s up with her? Ange is upset to see what Maria went through on that day and doesn’t want to see anymore of it. Ange asks Maria how can she be positive about it?

They remember what happened a few days after Maria’s birthday. As we know Rosa was out and didn’t come back that time. But this time Rosa call Maria one the phone again and tells her that she will be coming late for two more days. Maria is heartbroken that they won’t be able to go to the movies on Sunday. Too make matter worse it appears that Rosa had even forgotten about it. Oh man, those orders are really starting to pick up! Maria sits on the couch and she’s sad to know that she will be alone again. Sakutaro comes to cheer Maria up telling her that they will have a sugoi pajama party with friends and they will party so hard that they will put any MTV’s crappy sweet 16 and whatever quinceañera to shame. Once again the power of imagination saves another child from certain dementia.

First episode that I can say I really enjoyed.  I thought this is what this show needs, It doesn’t need fillers about lolis going around town or crappy fights that end with only one shot and much less weak character development.  It needs more ass kicking, hopefully Cecily getting hers kicked and definitely more battles like these where at least they manage to fool me into thinking that one of the good guys might die for real.
